Invitation to Present Genocide Research in Namibia

A few weeks ago I received an email from the Council of Churches in Namibia inviting me to attend an International Consultation on Empire, Genocide and Social Justice. I will be presenting on “Genocidal Violence and the Bible.” I am not sure why this consultation is being hosted in Namibia but I imagine it has something to do with the fact that Namibia was the site of the first genocide of the 20th century. If you are interested in more information on the colonial genocide of the Nama and Ovaherero peoples by German colonial troops see the work Forensic Architecture recently put together here: https://forensic-architecture.org/investigation/shark-island.
